Hello! My name is Allison. I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist with 8 years of experience. Originally from the midwest, I moved to San Diego in 2023 due to my husband's job in the Navy. I started Lion Cub Speech therapy in 2024 in order to provide more personalized patient-centered care to my clients and their families. I have extensive experience working with children of all ages. Areas of expertise include: early intervention, expressive and receptive language disorders, and articulation disorders. I also have experience with feeding and AAC. I LOVE my job and look forward to hearing from you :)

My Approach

Play-Based and Child-Centered

Play-based therapy has been shown to enhance children’s engagement, lead to better retention of skills, and support their overall social, emotional, and cognitive development!

I follow each individual child’s lead during sessions and incorporate their speech and language goals based on their interests. Bubbles? Yes! Swings? Yes! Silly animal sounds? You betchya!

Therapy should be FUN and motivating for each child.

FAQ

  • Please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation to determine if an evaluation is necessary. If so, we will set up an evaluation! An evaluation typically lasts an hour. From there, if services are needed, sessions will be scheduled, typically 1-2 times a week depending on need.

  • Services take place wherever your child is! This is often at home with a primary caregiver, or at daycare with your child’s teacher.

    I currently serve families in East County San Diego. Including: Lakeside, Alpine, El Cajon, La Mesa, Spring Valley, and Santee

  • Initial phone consultation: free!

    Please reach out to me via phone or email for evaluation and session pricing.

  • I accept San Diego Regional Center for clients ages 0-3. This program provides free services for children up until their 3rd birthday.

    I am not currently in network with other insurance providers, but can provide a superbill each month that you can submit to your insurance company to see if they will reimburse the cost of services.
